Investing in your social media shouldn't fall to the bottom of your list. Hear me out...

So if you’ve made it this far, I can only assume that you’re considering outsourcing your social media to an expert? Or maybe you just want to get a better understanding before you fully invest? I hear you.

While the thought of spending money on social media may feel daunting, I’m here to break things down for you so you can feel confident in knowing you’re investing in something which is going to pay off.

So, let’s go!

Putting it simply…

If you're using social media for the sake of it, it's never going to benefit your business. While a lot of people might think that just posting on social media is enough, I hate to be the one to say it, but they’re so wrong.

You see, social media is all about creating a connection with your audience, making sure they feel seen, heard and connected. THAT is what will create conversion.

It creates a connection and builds an online community which overtime CONVERTS.

Posting sporadic content with no thought behind it is not going to keep your audience engaged. Your followers want to be entertained, engaged and inspired, so give them a reason to follow your page!

If you’re sharing valuable content which evokes an emotional reaction or connects with your audience in one way or another, it’s likely that they’re going to stick around and follow along. As you nurture this relationship over time by showing up for them, they’re going to convert.

Think of it like this: If you’ve just made a new friend and you’re putting in loads of effort, it’s likely you’ll see that back from them, and overtime you’ll develop a special friendship! Yet, if you only meet with this new friend a couple of times and then ghost them...well, they aren’t going to stick around either.

Connection + community = conversion.

Even if it takes time, you’ll get there. Remember organic social media is primarily about generating awareness as it’s at the top of your marketing funnel, so it’s always going to take people a little while to warm up to you before they decide to take action.

It gives the ability to connect with your audience & discover insights like never before

If done properly, social media can be a fantastic tool to engage with your audience and speak directly to them. Ever wondered what your audience might be thinking of a certain topic, or want some feedback from them about your product or service? Social media is the perfect place to start these conversations on a level!

Instagram stories are particularly useful for this, as you can use a range of interactive features from polls to quizzes. It’s important to remember that this conversation is a two-way thing…obvious, I know. However, if you’re asking your audience to engage with you, yet you ignore them, take forever to reply or just give them nothing back, it’s likely they won’t feel inclined to provide feedback again. And this could potentially tarnish their view of your business.

So, top tip: Share these stories and interactive features when you have the time to be able to respond properly!

It acts as an online portfolio

My favourite thing to say, but having a strong social media presence is essentially like having a digital portfolio. It showcases your business along with your products/services, your team and all of the fun stuff in the best light possible!

With 41% of Brits using social media to decide if they'll visit a restaurant, having a solid social media presence has never been as important.

Think of it like this... if people are searching your business on social media before they visit, what would you like them to see? If you saw what came up, would you be willing to stick around? It will be their first impression, after all…

Here are some key things to consider if you’re lacking on social media right now…

  • A minimal social media presence = people may question if your business is still active.

  • A lack of consistent branding = it might put people off due to the lack of professionalism.

  • Solely product / service based posts = people won’t feel connected. We’re all humans after all, we don’t just want to be sold to!!

Essentially, having a strong social media presence gives you audience insights like never before. This means you can tap into your audience wants and needs, and draw them in in new ways with your content. It allows you to connect and speak with them on a level, and gives you the opportunity to create a good first impression!

Now, I know doing all of this yourself may seem like a lot. And, I know it can be difficult to find the time to do all of this, while ensuring it's done effectively. But, that’s where I come in!

If you’re serious about increasing your social media presence to attract the attention of your target audience, it's time to invest, my friend!
